Students Complete Think Through Math Lessons to Raise Money for Wounded Warrior Project

Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) November 06, 2014

Think Through Learning, authors of the award-winning Think Through Math (TTM), a web-based math instructional system for grades 3 through Algebra 1, announced today that in honor of Veteran’s day and in support of its charitable donations program, the company will be matching all donations made by participating students and classes to the Wounded Warrior Project between November 5th and November 11th, up to $10,000. Points for math lessons completed in the evening and over the weekend will be included in this special matching program.

TTM’s charitable donations program provides students with the opportunity to convert the points they earn by completing math lessons into dollars that they can donate to one of TTM’s several featured charities. TTM’s charitable giving program has resulted in tens of thousands of dollars in annual donations to featured charities across the U.S, including The Wounded Warrior Project. The charitable component of TTM has been embraced by schools across the country, many of which are contending with their own socioeconomic challenges.

The Wounded Warrior Project’s mission is to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members, to help injured service members aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.

“Our points for charity program is a critical part of Think Through Math’s overall motivational strategy, and what better way to emphasize this commitment than by donating to the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of Veteran’s Day,” said Kevin McAliley, CEO, Think Through Math. “While improving math skills may be the primary focus of TTM, by providing TTM students the opportunity to donate their hard-earned THINK points back to charity, we are also helping to foster lifelong decision-making and citizenship skills.”
Studies show that providing children with the opportunity to contribute to charity, instead of redeeming rewards for themselves, develops decision-making skills, boosts confidence and lays the groundwork for a lifetime of philanthropic thinking and practice.
