Manheim (NY) Poised to be Site of Natural Gas Hub

MANHEIM

Plans have been initiated in the town of Manheim to possibly become a natural gas hub – but not via hydrofracking.

Boston-based Xpress Natural Gas has proposed a compressed natural gas filling site on farmland, drawing from the Iroquois Pipeline.

The process is in its infancy: On Monday, the town’s Planning Board will discuss subdividing land at 5356 State Route 167 owned by Leon and Rebecca Newswanger, separating a 6.59-acre parcel of property that could house such a site.
