Chirpify adds $870,000 in funding to expand into new markets

Portland social media startup Chirpify has raised another $870,000 as the company works to expand into new markets.

Chirpify uses social media tools to help clients market their brands. The 13-person company has now raised just over $8 million altogether.

In an e-mail, Chris Teso said the latest funding will help finance Chirpify’s expansion into the hospitality market and development of a social media loyalty and rewards program.

“Given our platform expansion in loyalty and rewards, enabling consumers to use social media as a remote control to earn ‘points, bucks, miles,’ it’s perfect for the travel and hospitality vertical,” Teso wrote.

The new funding is an extension of Chirpify’s last investment round, according to Teso.

A regulatory filing Tuesday indicated Chirpify might raise another $600,000 as part of the investment round. Teso said that may happen but that it’s not critical to the company’s plans. “Read more”
